We are...
…the Zentrale Studienberatung (ZSB), student advisory services of the KIT.
We are the first point of contact at KIT for those interested in studying and those already studying at KIT concerning all questions regarding your current or future studies. It doesn't matter what your concerns and questions are, our well-trained advisors will always offer a sympathetic ear and make time for you. If your concerns are not directly a part of our portfolio, we can still offer help in guiding you through the so-called jungle of advisory and guidance offers at KIT and beyond.
Our services...
... are confidential, neutral and unbiased. We will support you in trying to find a solution to your concerns by carefully considering your current situation and your goals, your resources and what your personal approaches to these matters have been so far; all done in a private and protected environment.
In working with you, it is of great importance to us to strengthen and boost your self-competence. It is of equal importance to us to help and support you in matters concerning examination and admission law as well as the related administrative processes at KIT by use of our vast knowledge and experience. We put great emphasis on our professionalism, thus our advisors regularly attend advanced training courses.

Orientation and decision
We are your first stop if you're not yet sure whether or what you want to study. We'll show you how to decide what to study, introduce you to fields of study and explain how the various types of universities differ.

Preparing for and starting your studies
We offer information about the requirements of your studies and show you how you can make a successful start to your studies through preparatory courses, orientation phase, mentoring program and other KIT offers - tailored to your previous knowledge and needs.

Study organization
Studying at KIT offers you many opportunities and freedom of choice - and certainly also challenges. Whether you are studying for a bachelor's or master's degree, we can advise you on organizational matters relating to study planning, examinations, semesters abroad, internships, accommodation, financing and more.

A change of subject or university should be carefully considered. We support you in the decision-making process and inform you about the necessary administrative steps. Even if you want to change to KIT for your master's degree, you've come to the right place.

For prospective students
Do you want to study, but are still unsure how to make the right decision? We can help you find your way. Our events will give you guidance, introduce you to degree programs and show you how to make your decision step by step. You can ask questions, exchange ideas and develop your ideas further. There are also offers for parents - so that they can accompany you on your path.

For students
We accompany you on your way to and through KIT - from the start of your studies to the transition to your master's degree. Our services are aimed at KIT students as well as students from other universities who are interested in studying at KIT or are preparing for a transfer. We support you with questions about study organization, examination matters, study doubts or the entry into the master's program.

For school classes
Our events offer school classes and groups an insight into studying at KIT. As part of a campus visit, you and your pupils can choose from various modules - such as lectures on study orientation or campus tours with the opportunity to ask questions about studying. You can put together your own individual program via our website and submit a request directly.
We also offer study orientation workshops and BEST seminars both at KIT and directly at your school. We are also happy to participate in your school events - for example with presentations or information stands. For workshops and events at your school, we look forward to hearing from you directly.

Every November, KIT participates in the statewide study information day for students. Make use of this day to get first insights into our bachelor's programs on campus or online.
