If sufficient space is available, guest auditors may attend certain courses. However, they will not be admitted to examinations.

Applications for admission must be submitted to the Students Office between September 1 and October 31 of a year for the next winter semester and between March 1 and April 30 for courses offered in the summer semester.

To obtain a guest auditor ticket from the Students Office, you must complete the application for admission as a guest auditor (Antrag auf Zulassung für Gasthörende, PDF English). The application will require approval by the lecturers of the courses desired and must then be mailed to the Students Office of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Admission will require payment of a guest auditor fee in the amount of EUR 75 as outlined in Article 19 of KIT’s Admission and Enrollment Regulations.

Any work completed as a guest auditor (exercises, seminars, etc.) will not be recognized when attending a regular degree program. Guest auditors are NO members of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). A formal enrollment procedure for guest auditors does not exist. Guest auditors will not receive any student-specific benefits or BAföG financial aids.
