Proper de-registration upon request is a requirement for the issue of graduation documents. In the application for de-registration, you are able to make whether you want to pick up the documents yourself or have an authorized third party pick it up for you or whether you want to receive them by registered mail. Please remember to change your address in the Campus Management Portal (Studierendenportal) and state a valid mailing address in your application for de-registration respectively.
Should you wish for any extracurricular achievements to be listed on your graduation documents, you need to request this in time, at the latest while handing in your application for de-registration. Please also take in consideration the study and examination regulations of your degree program.

- Is the diploma, bachelor's or master's thesis your final study achievement? Should this be the case, the Studierendenservice will automatically issue your graduation documents as soon as the results are published.
- Is a written / oral exam or a credit course your final study achievement? Should this be the case, please contact theteam graduation documents via email.
As soon as a 4,0 certificate (4,0 Bescheinigung) has been issued for the last, for graduation necessary study achievement, it is possible to receive a "Titelfuehrungsbescheinigung" (attestation of holding a title) in German and in English (see certificates in the Campus Management Portal (Studierendenportal)) until the final grade has been published and the graduation documents are available. The "Titelfuehrungsbescheinigung" is available up to 6 months after de-registraion.
After graduation documents have been compiled, they will first start circulation for signatures (examination board as well as dean's office of the KIT-department and KIT executive board) which may take several weeks. Once your documents are ready for pick-up, you will be notified. In case a third party will pick up your documents, please issue a letter of authorization PDF.
Loss of documents
In case of loss or damage of original documents, a duplicate PDF can be issued upon request. Please note that in certain cases a certified copy of the original documents is sufficient. According to §2 of the "Satzung über die Erhebung von Gebuehren für das Gasthoerer‐Studium und sonstige studienbezogene Dienstleistungen", a fee will apply for re-issueing any documents.
